Voters for 2008's worst movies have spoken -- and they liked Mike Myers' The Love Guru.

The comedy nabbed seven nominations for the Razzies -- which celebrate the worst from Hollywood -- including worst picture.

"This is one of those auteur-of-the-awful situations," said John Wilson, founder of the Razzies. "I think people are tired of him in general. He hasn't really made a good movie in quite some time."

Also up for worst movie: Disaster Movie and Meet the Spartans, Mark Wahlberg's The Happening, the fantasy flick In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and Paris Hilton's bomb The Hottie & the Nottie.

Hilton earned nominations for worst actress (Hottie) and worst supporting actress for her role in Repo! The Genetic Opera.

Paris Hilton tells British TV she's "strong," not dumb

So maybe this almost qualifies as a trend.

Earlier this week, Jessica Alba took to her blog to inform her critics that she was not "dumb" because she described Sweden as a "neutral" country.

Now, it's Paris Hilton who's trying to set the record straight. The celebutante says she sometimes acts dumb on television to get laughs, but in real life she's "a strong person" who's been through a lot, Usmagazine.com reports.

Appearing on the British morning show "GMTV" to launch her new reality show "Paris Hilton's British Best Friend," Hilton, 27, said she cultivated her dumb blonde image for her hit reality show "The Simple Life," co-starring Nicole Richie, and it became her shtick.

"For five seasons I was stuck doing this character," she said.

"It was kind of hard always having to play that character when it's not who I am."

She adds, "I just say jokes but they think I'm serious, which I think is funny, and I think I kind of play up the image sometimes because - whatever - it's just entertainment."

Number one singer Lady GaGa met heiress Paris Hilton for the first time last night- at a Nokia 5800 party in London.

The two blonde bombshells went to the same Bel Air school but bizarrely it was in swanky London club Punk that they had their first encounter.

And speaking to MTV News Paris- in the UK to promote her new TV show- said she is a big fan of the Just Dance singer.

“I don’t usually get excited to meet anyone but Lady Ga Ga is her own thing, she knows what she’s doing and her music is like no other,” said Hilton.

“She writes all her own music and has a style that is so innovative and modern and futuristic that no one has even thought of it yet and I love that. She’s a trend setter.”

The love-in continued when MTV News asked Lady GaGa about her new BFF (Biggest Fan Forever).

She told us: “Paris went to my school and she’s a lovely girl so thankyou (to her).”

After meeting the two LA girls got behind the decks to spin some tunes together.
